From the Desk of Jackie Stanford:

We now have new ownership at B.A.S.S. who really has the health of the grass roots organizations at heart. I attended a presidents meeting in Florida January 15th where Jerry Mckinnis (one of the new owners) spent all day talking with us and answering any question we had. I feel good about the changes that are to come. We have an opportunity to be apart of the best fishing organization around. I am asking each club to reach out to the fishermen in their communities and bring them into the S.C. Bass Federation.

There will be an emphasis put on youth and conservation with the new owners. That being said, we as a state will need all the members we can recruit. I want to thank the clubs that have started youth clubs, for their work in this adventure. For those clubs who have not started a youth or kids program I am asking each club to approach their members with the idea of taking up a donation each year for the Federation Youth Fund. This fund will be used to support all the youth activities throughout the year including sending the youth champions to the Southern Divisional with their families. I know that this organization will provide whatever is needed to promote bass fishing in our young people.
