From the Desk of Randy Mosley:
The first and possibly last January tournament has come and gone. The weather was terrible and fish were not biting. The day started out with a temperature of 22 degrees and water temperature of 38 degrees. At the meeting that morning I stressed the importance of being very careful with the temps so low any one who accidently falls in could perrish if not quickly pulled from the water and warmed back up. With that being said we had prayer where again the Chaplin stressed the importance of being careful and watching out for your partners. During blast off a boat in mid pack made it a couple of hundred yards down the river when it suddenly took a hard left and began to spin around. The driver was thrown out of the boat and went under. When the boat finally stopped spinning the non-boater looked around and by the GRACE OF GOD the boat came to rest within reach of the driver when he surfaced. The non-boater quickly pulled him from the icy waters and checked him out for injuries. Competitors who witnessed the accident turned around and came to help. They pulled the boat back to the landing where the driver warmed himself up and dried his wet clothes. We are very fortunate that GOD showed up for this tournament and no one was injured in this accident. We will start evaluating the weather situation for our tournaments and some may be postponed if we believe that there is a potential for accidents like this one to possibly take the life of any of our members. We want to take this incident as a life lesson and thank the LORD for being there to keep this from being any worse.
Thanks, Randy Mosley
