Tournament Director's Notes

Lake Hartwell

Our first Trail event of the year was held February 11th out of Green Pond Landing.

Guys we had a really good start to the year with 48 boaters and 32 co-anglers.

The fishing was good with boaters having 18 limits and co-anglers 9 limits.

Boater winner was Hayes Hudson from Conway SC who fishes with the Conway Bassmasters. Hayes had five fish for 18.23 lbs. He said that his fish were caught on a jig and drop shot in 18-25 feet of water from the Seneca River down to the Tugaloo River. He caught 9 keepers all day. Corey Lewis had the boater big fish of 7.15 and was also 2nd overall with 17.75lbs.

The co-angler winner was Jesse Hopkins from Conway SC who fishes with the Pee Dee Bassmasters. Jesse said he caught 4 keepers with his best three weighing in at 8.34 lbs. He caught his fish on a jig and a worm and said his boater started off shallow that morning and moved out deeper later in the day near the Georgia side of the lake. Timothy Garrison had the co-angler big fish of 5.45 lbs.

We really appreciate every one that came out to fish with us. Please invite someone from your club to fish an event with us this year. Remember all you have to do is fish one event and you are eligible to fish in the year end state championship.

Feel free to call or email me if you have questions about our great organization.

Thanks for the support and hope to see you at John C Land Landing on Santee Cooper March 11th.
